Candle Holder

This makes a great gift for parents, grandparents, teachers, or anyone special.

Directions

  1. Cut the tissue paper into small squares, 1 inch. (I used a Mickey punch out but squares will work just a well or other small shapes).
  2. In a small bowl mix a small amount of water with Elmer’s glue. It will look more like a milk consistency. Add a little glitter to the mixture if you’d like a little sparkle.
  3. With the paintbrush start painting the outside of the candle holder with the glue mixture. You will want to start with a small portion so it doesn’t dry up.
  4. Once you paint a spot with glue, gently place a tissue paper on top of it.
  5. Then gently paint more of the glue mixture on top of the tissue ensuring that you got all the corners and the tissue down.
    • The glue will dry clear.
  6. Continue painting more of the glue mixture then placing tissues on top until the full outer surface of the candle holder is done.
    • Don’t do the inside of the holder or the bottom.
    • Overlapping little bits of tissue paper looks great.
  7. Once done, check again that all of the tissue paper is painted down and paint more if needed in areas.
  8. Allow time to dry.
  9. With a sharpie write your name and year on the bottom.
  10. Add a fake or real candle inside and gift to someone special.
