Candle Holder
This makes a great gift for parents, grandparents, teachers, or anyone special.
Directions
- Cut the tissue paper into small squares, 1 inch. (I used a Mickey punch out but squares will work just a well or other small shapes).
- In a small bowl mix a small amount of water with Elmer’s glue. It will look more like a milk consistency. Add a little glitter to the mixture if you’d like a little sparkle.
- With the paintbrush start painting the outside of the candle holder with the glue mixture. You will want to start with a small portion so it doesn’t dry up.
- Once you paint a spot with glue, gently place a tissue paper on top of it.
- Then gently paint more of the glue mixture on top of the tissue ensuring that you got all the corners and the tissue down.
- The glue will dry clear.
- Continue painting more of the glue mixture then placing tissues on top until the full outer surface of the candle holder is done.
- Don’t do the inside of the holder or the bottom.
- Overlapping little bits of tissue paper looks great.
- Once done, check again that all of the tissue paper is painted down and paint more if needed in areas.
- Allow time to dry.
- With a sharpie write your name and year on the bottom.
- Add a fake or real candle inside and gift to someone special.
